The NEW MILANO series

Stiletto Switchblades
Automatic Knives

Get yourself an improved firing system than traditional Italian style stilettos come with.
  • It is a stiletto switchblade of fair quality as far as functioning is concerned.
  • The firing button is locked toward the top of the handle, where is should be and not stuck in the middle.
  • The safety lock is a lever located at the of the handle instead of the inconvenient classical Italian slider that can be too hard or to loose for comfort or security.
  • The knife folds by pushing the firing button instead of the crummy idea of dealing with guard prong.
  • The added a removable belt clip, which makes sense for that size of knife.
  • The inserts are flush with bolster, smooth and rounded, just perfect.
  • The whole deal is assembled with screws and not with rivets that made repairs impossible.
  • The knife is well finished and elegant.
The bottom line: unless you are crazy about some exotic bone handle, then that's the stiletto switchblade that I would recommend even over the ones that go for several hundreds of bucks. It's is simply much smarter made than most.

Smartly made
Penetration power
Safety lock

Needs 3rd pillar at butt end for rigidity
Lock lever close to blade edge, could cut oneself disengaging lock.
Blade stop pin dented (blade slamming into stop), low quality soft steel

Plating peeling on inside of belt hook
Blade doesn't lock when open, lock notch on blade to shallow. had to disassemble and file to fit
One handle screw stripped

Good heft and feel
Blade very sharp
Decent design and component parts, defeated by poor assembly workmanship

After reworking (I'm an retired watchmaker, so I enjoyed a little bench work) the action, and getting it working smoothly, I really like the knife. Hope my experience is a fluke, since it is based on a sample of one.
